Farmers Market

broccoli, strawberries, spinach, peaches, olive bread, pluots, & green beans

One of my favorite things to do on the weekend, is to visit the farmers market. Every farmer’s market I visit is different, and each week the selection changes based on what is in season, but I have never met a farmer’s market I don’t like.

Weekend Links 10/22/16

This week has been a busy one and at the end of the week I ended up getting sick. So this weekend is all about getting better. I wasn’t going to write a weekend links post, because I am suppose to be resting. But I am so sick that I can’t sleep, but I hope you are having a much better weekend than I am! Here are a few links that I found from around the web…

Weekend Links 10/16/16

This weekend was a busy one! My boyfriend and I went to the Portland/Vancouver area for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. It was exhausting, but good to see my family, eat delicious food, and just spend time away from Walla Walla. What were you up to this weekend? Here are a few links for you week/weekend….

If you are in the Portland area and have the time, check our Vita Cafe…we ate there two nights in a row.

Simple Nightime Routine

Before leaving for college, I never really had any kind of routine, especially any kind of skincare or haircare routine. But over the past few weeks, I noticed that I do the same thing almost every night. It is really nice to have things that you do everyday, especially right before bed, the repetitiveness is slightly therapeutic. So I thought I would share with you my simple little nighttime routine.

Favorite Podcasts

Podcasts are one of my favorite things that I’ve discovered in the past year. I love listening to them when I am doing something that doesn’t require very much brain activity or something that is very boring. I’ve found that driving is a great time to listen to a podcast, especially on a long drive. I know that I will definitely be catching up on my podcasts when it comes time to drive the 5 1/2 hrs home. Another great time to listen to them is when you are doing things like cleaning or painting. I listened to so many podcasts while I was helping my parents renovate their new house this summer. It makes something boring, like painting, much more interesting. I know I’m a little late to the podcast party, but I still wanted to share some of my favorites.

A common theme with my favorite podcasts is that, for the most part, they are produced by NPR. If you have any favorite podcasts that you subscribe to, let me know!

Walla Walla is a great place to go cycling! This is about 3 miles away from my college.

What are you up to this weekend? I had a busy first week of college and I was so thankful when Friday finally came. I celebrated surviving the first week with an 8mile bike ride on Friday. It is still sunny and fairly warm here in Walla Walla, so it’s good to soak up the warmth and sun while I still can. Saturdays are always days of rest and fun and my Sundays are usually for doing grocery shopping, laundry, and getting ahead on my homework for the week. Here are a few links from around the internet….

An eco-friendly blog that I’ve fallen in love with!

A good post about eating healthy and vegan in college.

Sad, but interesting NY Times article.
