Wow, it has been a bit since I’ve last posted here. August 3, 2017. Let’s see, where does one even begin? In September I moved to a pretty bomb apartment with my childhood best friend. We have sweeping views of Bellingham Bay and it’s a short walk to school. The late summer was filled with lots of last minute hikes, bouldering sessions on the beach, and many haphazard adventures. In the fall, I fell in love with biking again. I pushed the limits of my little racing bike, taking it on muddy trail rides and splashing it through countless puddles around town. But fall wasn’t just all biking, I started to recognize the importance of my Bellingham family. I spent countless evenings having family dinners with my brother and our close friends. And most importantly, in October we welcomed Luna into the clan. She immediately stole everyone’s hearts, despite being a holy terror sometimes.
After a fast paced and wonderful week in Bellingham, I am home for the weekend. My family pupper, Bella the beagle, has been living in Bellingham with me as an emotional support animal. Let’s just say that she is quite pleased to be home, apartment living isn’t her thing. So this weekend we are going to enjoy our big yard, comfy couches, and endless amounts of food. In between all that we might check out a trail nearby and hit up the local farmers market. What are you up to this weekend? Let me know! It is finally June! I can’t believe summer is just around the corner, I just have to make it through my first finals week at Western. This weekend I am hoping the weather clears up a bit so I can go paddle boarding on Lake Whatcom, but if it doesn’t I’ll probably end up at a coffee shop drinking tea and hitting the books.
I can’t believe it’s May already! Last month was crazy. Between adjusting to my new life in Bellingham and starting my first quarter at Western Washington University, April just seemed to fly by.
First up on my list of favorites, is the ring pictured above. After living here for a couple of weeks, I noticed that a lot of people were wearing layers of lots of really cool rings. So when I stumbled upon this one at the farmers market, I knew I couldn’t leave it behind. Continue reading →
This long weekend started out with a dose of sleep deprivation and a day full of new things in Bellingham. After a long drive home after night lab I caught a few hours of sleep before getting up early to head to Bellingham for my new student transfer orientation. But of course when in Bellingham, you must do fun things and eat good food. So we ate at Soy House again, because that place is amazing, and also picked up some vegans donuts. After all that fun I was pretty exhausted, so the rest of the weekend will probably be fairly relaxed. I think working on projects, snuggling my pup, shopping at my favorite health food store, and eating lots of good food is what’s on the agenda. Here are a few links from around the internet for you weekend…
My first weekend of Christmas break I took a trip to go see my brother in Bellingham. My day started with an early train to Bham from King Street Station. I had to get up pretty early to make sure I got to the train with plenty of time to spare. This was my first time taking an Amtrak train and it went pretty smoothly. But I did end up meeting two girls who had a bit of a rougher morning. The were on their way to Vancouver, BC, so logically we should be on the same train, right? Continue reading →
